The Rustic Inn, Palawan

In between the two retreats I organized over the past weeks in Bahay Kalipay, I was so very blessed to call The Rustic Inn my home in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. This eco and animal sanctuary is the home of my aunt, Diana Limjoco, who moved to the island in 2010. Just recently, her family started accepted guests wanting to experience Palawan uniquely.

You'll find many different animals in the property because Tita Diana is drawn to animals especially when needing to save them from harm.

A Kingfisher landed on her HAIR one day and wouldn't leave!
Here are the two otters who she saved almost a year ago when humans accidentally killed their mother. The locals then brought these babies to her for saving. Since then, she has researched extensively for their care and provided a home for them within her property.

such sweet siblings! <3 td="">
I think this photo of my aunt perfectly describes how nurturing she is to her darling babies. Such a lovely shot!

Waldorf Education Parenting Workshop!

The following topics (and many more!) will be discussed during the parent education workshops:
How well do KWS graduates adapt to "traditional" high schools? How do they cope with math and science subjects outside of the Waldorf system?

I want to support my child by following the school's recommendations re diet, TV, electronic gadgets, etc., but my child at home is surrounded by cousins and neighborhood kids who eat junk food, watch excessive TV, play video games -- what can I do?

My child is 8 years old and can barely read.  Don't they teach children to read in Waldorf schools?
At the end of each workshop, parents will also learn why art is an integral part of the healing curriculum in Waldorf schools by experiencing it themselves.

Parent Education Workshops will be held on the following dates:
February 7        Saturday    10-12am
February 21        Saturday    10-12am

Venue:  I-House, 161/81 Judge Juan Luna St., SFDM, QC (Directions: from KWS, stay on Baler St. and turn right on Judge Juan Luna St. Enter the compound gate across Judge Juan Luna High School, follow the dirt road to the first white/brown wooden house on your right.  Please carpool there is parking only for a maximum of 3 cars.  The venue is a short tricycle ride away from Kolisko Waldorf School.

On Teaching

The past few weeks I have been busy studying and preparing a class presentation because I led two modules at the current Beyond Yoga teacher training. My section was on a BIG topic, Yoga Philosophy: Sutras by Patanjali and the Chakra System.

Despite agreeing, I first felt inadequate and questioned myself. But as I mentally prepared by studying and put together a multi-media deck for the trainees, I fell in love all over again with being a yoga teacher. Of course, I am first a wife and a mother. But another purpose of mine is to teach and spread the light, ignite the spark that is within all of us.

Posted this a few days ago on my Facebook timeline. I thought it was inspiring. Happy Sunday!

“Truth is the same always. Whoever ponders it will get the same answer. Buddha got it. Patanjali got it. Jesus got it. Mohammed got it. The answer is the same, but the method of working it out may vary this way or that. (115)” -Swami Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras
